BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Lower Moseley Street Bus Station Manchester

One of the reasons for the creation of this new blog was an excuse for me to scan my old negatives. Of course they are not to the same quality as dark room prints but they have a certain nostalgic look that is appropriate for their age. So much has happened in the bus world since this view of a Marshall bodied Leyland Leopard was taken at Manchester LMS on the long Newcastle-Leeds-Liverpool express service in 1967. I could almost drop off to sleep trying to recall it all. But these were wonderful times for me.

Every day's a Holiday

Every day is a holiday for the people who use my minibus and yesterday I was bumping along the badly maintained concrete roads of the vast rundown Speke Housing Estate which lies ajacent to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool. For most of my life Liverpool buses were shades of green and this Wright bobied Arriva VDL looks rather more at home here than in other parts of the system. For myself holidays should be an uplifing experience and Zurich with it's wonderful trams viewed in the winter sunshine is just the ticket.

Welcome Aboard

Welcome to my second blog this time for my transport pictures. Just like Jojo Smooth Bottom Party it is another extension of my website The Surreal World & Art of Christopher Leach. That came about through the popularity of my fun erotic alter-ego Jojo but in truth my bus photos don't fare well on an adult website but here they should get the viewings they deserve. All of us bus enthusiasts are anoraks because the hobby is all about trivia and detail but I want these posts to entertain everyone, show the pleasure I get from my hobby, and of course exhibit some beautiful and nostalgic pictures. Today I take photos when I have time to spare but it's more for the sake of photography itself. My favourite buses have now all gone, but I drive an old Ford Transit with a distinctive bus growl that I really love and of course not only do I photograph the girls who travel I get to meet them too. I have a good life.
