BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Leicester Types: Dennis Dominator & Leyland PD3

n the old days if people didn't have a bike they probably had to catch the bus and if they were in a reasonable sized town or city it might have been a Corporation Bus. Each one was as individualist as it's general manager and as seen here at Leicester many were well run with a smart fleet of buses. For many years Leicester favoured ultra reliable and simple buses like the Leyland PD3 but like a number of Municipals took to the Dennis Dominator as a replacement.

Did the PD3 run over the traffic cone?

Ross I don't expect he did they had real bus drivers to drive a proper bus, and thanks Bill it's always a pleasure to keep posting them here but I can't be bothered to update the page as it seems to do the job.
