BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Arrival VDL 3043 MX10 CZG in Liverpool

There is not a lot to choose between the major bus groups interest wise but they do have different vehicle preferences, and it's a matter of taste but I much prefer Arriva's Wright bodies to the Enviro favoured by Stagecoach. National Express uses them on our Stafford 54 Service and they are always chilly and uncomfortable in comparison. As for these I always like the sounds of a VDL more than the Volvo but as my friend Adrian calls it on the Volvo there is the naughty seat right at the front. It's a shame they all rattle like hell especially at the front and in that respect the modern bus has gone backwards as only an elderly Black Country Daimler Fleetline DD11 could rattle and shake more along with the  lightweight Orion. Even the BMMO S13 wasn't that bad but I do remember our Stafford bus 3886 was always referred to as "the old rattle box."
