Many know my more recent genre Buses and Girls photography as those earlier buses I really like have all gone so now I enjoy my bus hobby more for the photography. As well as being an artist I owned a small transport business before I retired but today I have a little job too driving a minibus dong a school run to Wolverhampton in the afternoon and occasionally other jobs. It gets me out and about and satisfies my childhood ambition to drive a bus.

Lothian Leyland Lynx
Lothian was unique in ordering it's Leyland Lynx buses with a centre exit, but this didn't gaurantee them a long and eventful life at the Scottish Capital as they had barely reached mid-life before they were quickly sold some noteworthy examples finding their way to the rapidly expanding Rossendale Transport.
This particular bus went to Brylaine of Boston, instead of Rossendale Transport, and has recently returned north for preservation. Whilst with Brylaine, it lost its centre door. This will be returned to the bus as part of its restoration.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Steven. I'm glad one of these unique two-door Edinburgh Lynx buses has been preserved as not only were Mk2's not so common the Lothian examoles were particuarly attractive.
