Many know my more recent genre Buses and Girls photography as those earlier buses I really like have all gone so now I enjoy my bus hobby more for the photography. As well as being an artist I owned a small transport business before I retired but today I have a little job too driving a minibus dong a school run to Wolverhampton in the afternoon and occasionally other jobs. It gets me out and about and satisfies my childhood ambition to drive a bus.

Anyone for an Expresso?
Obviously this very impressive looking high-floored Volvo B10R coach with unknown bodywork belonging to Resendo Yiagans spent most of it's working life doing an express service between Portugal's two principal cities of Lisbon and Porto also stopping at historic Braga. On this occasion though it was occupied ferrying relieved tourists after some long journey to their hotel in Portugal's Capital where I was also staying that warm night in 1984.
Great photo! The company is called Viagens Resende. Viagem, plural Viagens, is sort of equal to the word Tours. By the way, the licence plate probably says RS-62-95. Did you know that in the old system all licence plates starting with N, P, Q, R, S and T were from the northern (Porto) region?
ReplyDeleteHi Duarte you are correct it is RS-62-95, and no I didn't know how the registration system worked. One learns something every day. Thanks for you comments. Yes, I took a few coaches as well.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the logo beneath the windscreen that looks like a Neoplan logo, is the emblem of coach builder Alfredo Caetano.
ReplyDeleteThe emblem of coach builder, is much the same logo from Neoplan anda Alfredo Caetano (now Starbus), but this emblem is from coach buider RAMP (not exist yet).
