Many know my more recent genre Buses and Girls photography as those earlier buses I really like have all gone so now I enjoy my bus hobby more for the photography. As well as being an artist I owned a small transport business before I retired but today I have a little job too driving a minibus dong a school run to Wolverhampton in the afternoon and occasionally other jobs. It gets me out and about and satisfies my childhood ambition to drive a bus.

United Tours: Turkish-made MAN (MANAŞ 590HO-R)
My visitor from Israel, Lert who tells me so much about the country's buses I've posted might be surprised to see that I actually know this one. I was reading through his comments and he mentioned one of these and I thought, yes I've got one of those. So folks as you see you're efforts aren't completely wasted and I look forward to them.
Well, not a MANAS I am afraid...
ReplyDeleteActually a German-made SU240F, MAN type 583. 49 units only were ever built from this chassis type, all supplied to DAN (for its United Tours activities) during 1979. Another, earlier, unit, No. 50, was based off an earlier chassis.
Local body is from Merkavim, and it was produced during 1980.
334-359 was made on chassis No. 41.
All of these buses were withdrawn from service by 1995.
