Many know my more recent genre Buses and Girls photography as those earlier buses I really like have all gone so now I enjoy my bus hobby more for the photography. As well as being an artist I owned a small transport business before I retired but today I have a little job too driving a minibus dong a school run to Wolverhampton in the afternoon and occasionally other jobs. It gets me out and about and satisfies my childhood ambition to drive a bus.

Zurich Flughafen: Too much sun
Unfortunately where there is a lot of light colours and concrete to reflect it, the winter sun can be as much of a nuisance as it is a friend. Still I try my best to get some interesting pictures like these Zurich bus drivers early in 2000 taking a break at The Airport getting ready to get back in to their spotless Mercedes-Benz 0405 buses used in the suburbs
Wow, this is still the old bus station at Zürich airport. The location has since changed beyond recognition, w ith a flashy new shopping centre having gone up and a moder bus station to match it. Zürich-liveried bus are hardly ever seen here now either, as this is now Glattalbus territory, although you also get postal buses and the occasional bus from Winterthur. These Mercedes O405s are probably history too, at least as far as this location is concerned.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and now the tram runs here as well. How things have changed.
Andrew
Yes I'm sure much will have changed in Switzerland since my last visit in March 2000. I wonder whether I would like it or not. Okay it would be interesting but I'm glad I caught the final era which started for me when the Saurer RH was still King and FBW buses were even more commonplace back in 1989.
