RM 1214: A head turner in Halifax

Some of you like to imagine how modern buses might look in your favourite colours of the past.  This also applies to other types like the Routemaster but a few of them became a reality like when the name Halifax Joint Omnibus Committee was revived by a local entrepreneur together with that distinctive livery. Of course I knew they were there but I'm sure this strange combination in the town might turn a few heads.

  1. Nostalgia moment. Remember these colours so well from growing up in 1960s and 1970s. The old Halifax Passenger Exec in earlier times used Leyland Titans, and I remember AEC Regent 3s ('Old Ikes' to us boys) and Regent5s. The fleet modernised with Leyland (Daimler) Atlantis, and also Dennis Lolines. The latter were a bit of disaster as I recall, being underpowered and simply not suited to all the turns and steep inclines in the villages around Halifax. Petty the colours weren't kept.
