The highbridge bodied Bristol VR's built by ECW were scarce enough compared to their lowheight sisters to always look a bit strange. Maidstone and District had some and 5136 was seen close to the depot in Luton, not to be mistaken with the better known place with the same name where the Vauxhall's come from.
Like many others, the depot's long gone, but the housing development on the site rejoices in the name of "Tramways", recognising what its occupants were before buses arrived on the scene.
ReplyDeleteAlso of note is that there are far fewer route numbers serving this stop today, but possibly it is a simpler network for passengers to understand - and probably no less frequent.
The old M&D bus stops listing the routes were so much more attractive and tidy too.
