Word Play: Don't Call me "A Lag!"

No I didn't say anything but what looks like two sisters in Copenhagen look very disagreeable and don't look happy despite the sunshine of Copenhagen. With all the blinds pulled down it must have been quite warm on the Belgium Galexy bodied Renault here for the St Josef Fanfare.

Buddens in Brugges

One of the highlights of a weekend coach trip to Amsterdam with some Michelin lads from Stoke was a stop on the return trip in Brugge. As usual unfortunately it coincided with a huge thundery rain storm so I didn't get many photos just my feet wet. However here is a local being questioned by the police as he was trying to steel some medieval 'balls and chain' hardware used to add to the historic ambiance and to keep cars off the grass. They wouldn't have lasted longer than a short Smethwick shower if that old transit with a blowing exhaust full of tinkers came along blowing it's recorded trumpet. "Officer, we thought like someone had left them out sort of thing".

Not surprisingly Copenhagen attracts a wealth of visiting coaches from all over Europe, the most common of course being from Germany and fellow Scandinavian countries. I imagine there are a few from the nearby former Communist Block too which is not too far away but I guess if it's expensive for us it's a tad bit even more expensive for the shopping. Amongst the coaches I saw when I was there in the Eighties was this rather impressive and smart Panoramic LAG bodied Volvo Turbo coach from Belgium working for a holiday company and pictured outside the railway station.

Naturally Copenhagen is a magnet for touring coaches from abroad and in 1982 outside the railway station I spotted this fine LAG Panoramic bodied turbo powered Volvo belonging to an operator from Belgium.

Raining Cats and Dogs: Either we're in a Magritte or it's just Belgium

I went with some friends on a week-end coach trip to Amsterdam and on the way back we stopped in Bruges (Brugge). We had about two hours there and it rained heavily for most of the two hours . The Belgian gentleman isn't being arrested for driving a Taunus the police wanted to know why he wanted to take home some of the decorative iron chain put there to look old and to stop people parking on the verge. There seemed to be more visiting coaches from the UK than local buses on the streets.
