BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Dusseldorf Tram

I always found the West German trams very impressive and modern looking. Viewed in 1982 I guess as the one's in Cologne were red and cream this green tram must have been working in Dusseldorf.

Hallo,
this photo has been taken at the tramstop "Rudolfplatz" in Cologne.
It shows Tram 3038 running eastbound to Brück and will soon cross the city center of cologne.
It is a rare shot, and it should be really difficult to find the same place now, bacause the eastbound tracks have been deverted in the middle 80th into a parallel running street more south, so that a one-way system for cars and trams could be craated.
Very close right just out of the frame of this photo an old part om a gate "Hahnentor" - part of the old wall around is situatet.
Most tram photographers used the opposite position to create photos of trams together with that old gate.
I hope to help you
