BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Midland Red S15 in Hyde Lea

Yes this is a another early photo I took with my little Ilford Sporti camera. It was about 11.43am but I can't tell you exactly when it was but I expect it was summer 1966 as 4621 didn't come to Stafford till December 1965. I know the time at least as during the week all the other trips on this town service the S98 was with double-deckers. The local allocation was only for seven saloons and surprisingly it operated more S15's like this than the ubiquitous S14 of which I believe there were only three listed. However S15's came and went with firstly new 4647, then 4602, 4621, 4608. Also new was 5087 and 5085 was here for a while too.
4621 is seen passing the Hyde Lea village school which was handy for me as lived just across the road. I can still remember a lot of things from my very early years whereas others have terrible memories.
