BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Click on images to enlarge them and if you want to see more leave your comments or visit my website for the mother-site with galleries including those Buses & Girls: PICTUREWORLD

Carris Lisbon AEC Regal No.107

As you see I took one or two in black and white too when I went to Portugal in 1984. No.107 had been re-bodied at some time and despite it having quite a restricted carrying capacity it had been fitted with dual-entrances for fast a boarding and exit.

Hi Chris !

Did you know that Carris celebrates today, Setember 18, her birthday ?

She an old girl with 137 years.

With this gesture, you have given an awsome present and joy to their fans...

I'm glad Carris is doing so well, it's quite an age, and Happy Birthday. I have been under the assumption that most of you over there in Portugal are all RN devotees as I get few comments for my Lisbon and Porto pictures despite there being some great buses to enjoy. It's seems I came just at the right time as if I remember rightly a recent article had told me there were I think just twenty AEC double-deckers left and a smaller number of these fine single-deckers.
